For example, she has assisted private and non-profit corporations of various sizes through start-up/licensure processes, mergers, plant closings, restructuring, 401(k) plan corrections, OFCCP compliance audits and daily oversight of human resources and related functions. Over the past 14 years, HRBS has assisted senior living communities in all facets of development and operations: Human Resources and Payroll policies and systems, interim management, operational policies, compliance audits, executive recruiting, staffing plans/FTE monitoring; compensation and market surveys; employee benefits selection, management training, licensure, regulations management, litigation support, outsourcing studies, financial reporting, operational budgets, technology solutions, contract negotiations, and insurance procurement and claims management. With over 30 years of experience in human resources planning and compliance, she offers a unique combination of management consulting and practical Human Resources application expertise. She has extensive expertise in executive compensation, salary/market studies, ERISA reporting and disclosure, Affirmative Action Plans, and Cafeteria Plan non-discrimination testing. Valerie prepares Welfare and Cafeteria Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions, and annual 5500 filings, including voluntary compliance programs for delinquent filings. She holds a B.S. from Longwood College and a Masters in Counselor Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).

Mary Lee has experience negotiating supplier contracts for the administration of Health & Welfare, Defined Benefit, and Defined Contribution plans along with ancillary benefit plans. She worked on multiple consolidation efforts and HR system selection and implementation projects. Mary Lee has experience with compliance programs ranging from SOX controls to HIPAA and ERISA plan audits and ACA reporting. She implemented a records imaging system that improved litigation response time and eliminated historical benefit hardcopy record keeping requirements. She has collaboratively resolved employee complaints and handled employee and compliance investigations across a wide range of business functions. Before joining the HRBS team, Darcy served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Shenandoah Growers, Inc., which utilized her expertise in building HR departments from the ground up and successfully managing all people functions within a large multi-state organization where 30 different languages were spoken.
